Affiliate disclosure
How Freshie Wine handles affiliate links, retailer partnerships, and the relationship between revenue and editorial content.
FTC affiliate disclosure
Freshie Wine participates in affiliate programs. Some links on this site lead to retailers, marketplaces, and producer direct-to-consumer storefronts. If you click an affiliate link and complete a purchase, Freshie Wine may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. This disclosure is required by FTC guidelines for endorsements and material connections.
Affiliate networks and programs
Freshie Wine participates in or applies for affiliate programs across the following networks:
- Amazon Associates — Amazon storefront. StoreID:
veryation-20. Used for wine accessories, books, and selected wine-related products. - CJ Affiliate — major wine retailer programs (Wine.com, Total Wine & More, K&L Wine Merchants, etc.) where partnership is active.
- Impact (formerly Impact Radius) — some producer direct-to-consumer and specialty wine programs.
- Direct partnerships — selected importers and producers maintain direct affiliate or referral arrangements.
All affiliate links on this site are marked with rel="sponsored noopener" and identifiable as affiliate links. The affiliate disclosure appears in the relevant context.
How affiliate revenue affects content
Affiliate revenue is a material consideration but does not determine editorial coverage. Specifically:
- Editorial selection is independent. We cover producers, appellations, and grapes based on editorial significance — not based on whether they have an affiliate program.
- We do not adjust ratings or framing in exchange for commission rates. If a producer's wine isn't editorially significant, no affiliate arrangement promotes it.
- We do not accept payment for placements in editorial content. Affiliate links lead to retailers, not to paid promotion of specific producers.
- We may decline affiliate arrangements from producers or retailers whose practices conflict with our editorial principles.
Wine investment caution
Some wine is bought as investment. Freshie Wine content is NOT financial advice or investment advice. The drinking-window estimator, vintage commentary, and producer coverage describe what we believe makes wine editorially significant; they do not predict future market value. Wine investment carries real risks (storage, provenance, market liquidity, counterfeit). Consult licensed financial professionals for investment decisions.
