Privacy policy
What we collect (almost nothing directly), how third-party services handle visitor data, and how to opt out of tracking.
What we collect
Freshie Wine is an editorial reference site. We do not require accounts, do not maintain a user database, and do not directly collect personally identifiable information from visitors.
The following data is collected automatically by third-party services:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — aggregates pageview and session data. GA4 uses cookies to differentiate visitors and sessions. IP addresses are anonymized in transit per GA4 default settings.
- Cloudflare — provides DNS, CDN, and bot-protection services. Cloudflare logs request data including IP addresses for security and abuse-detection purposes per its privacy policy.
- Affiliate networks — when you click an affiliate link and complete a purchase, the affiliate network (Amazon, CJ, Impact, etc.) tracks the conversion for commission attribution. The networks' own privacy policies apply.
We do not sell, share, or transfer visitor data to third parties beyond the services listed above. We do not maintain a marketing email list. We do not deploy retargeting or remarketing pixels.
How to opt out
To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all GA-enabled sites, install the official Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
To opt out of affiliate cookie tracking from this site, you can either avoid clicking affiliate links, or use browser cookie blocking / private browsing modes.
The site does not deploy a cookie banner because the cookies we use are limited to analytics and affiliate attribution, and most jurisdictions do not require banner consent for these uses. EU/UK visitors with stricter local regulations should use opt-out tools or browser blocking to manage tracking.
Data retention
We retain anonymized GA4 data for the default GA4 retention period (currently 14 months for event data). Cloudflare retention follows Cloudflare's own retention policies. Affiliate network attribution data follows the relevant network's policies.
We do not retain personal information beyond what is incidental to the third-party services above.
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
EU/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA) residents have specific rights regarding personal data. Since this site does not directly collect personal data, those rights are exercised primarily through the third-party services (Google, Cloudflare, affiliate networks) listed above.
For requests specifically relating to data potentially associated with your visits to this site (e.g., contact-form submissions, email correspondence), contact hello@freshiewine.com.
Children's privacy
Freshie Wine is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Wine content is intended for adult audiences (see Legal terms for age requirements).
Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated periodically. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
