About Taylor
Taylor Fladgate is one of the great historic Port houses — founded in 1692 and continuously operated by the Yeatman family and their descendants for over 300 years. The house produces Port across the full quality spectrum: from everyday Ruby Reserve and LBV (Late Bottled Vintage) to declared Vintage Ports (released approximately every 2-3 years from outstanding harvests) and a small range of Single Quinta Vintages (from the estate’s Quinta de Vargellas in particular). Taylor’s Vintage Port is among the most age-worthy fortified wines in the world — the 1945, 1955, 1963, 1977, 1985, 1992, 1994, 2000, 2003, 2007, 2011, 2016 vintages are all considered classic. Beyond Vintage Port, the house produces extensive Tawny Port (the 10/20/30/40-year aged wines), Quinta de Vargellas single-vineyard Vintage Port, and the Scion (an extremely rare bottling from 1855 stocks). Port wine aging logic is unique among wines: Vintage Port is bottled relatively young and aged in bottle; Tawny Port is aged in cask before bottling.

Editorial notes
Vintage Port requires 20-30+ years cellaring from strong vintages. The wines throw substantial sediment and must be decanted carefully. Tawny Port doesn’t require further bottle aging — it’s drink-now style.
