E. Guigal
The leading Northern Rhône producer. Famous for the three single-vineyard ‘La La’ Côte-Rôties (La Mouline, La Landonne, La Turque) and the broad Côtes du Rhône réserve.
About E.
E. Guigal is the dominant force in Northern Rhône wine production and a major presence across the broader Rhône Valley. The family-owned estate produces wine at multiple price tiers — from the everyday Côtes du Rhône Réserve (millions of bottles annually) to the three legendary single-vineyard Côte-Rôties known as the “La La’s”: La Mouline (Syrah + Viognier), La Landonne (100% Syrah), and La Turque (Syrah + Viognier). The La La’s are among the most extensively aged wines in modern Northern Rhône production — 42 months in new oak before bottling. Guigal also owns Château de Nalys (Châteauneuf-du-Pape), Château d’Ampuis (a Côte-Rôtie blend), Domaine de Bonserine, and other holdings. The Guigal family’s editorial position is uncompromising on traditional Syrah-led winemaking with significant oak treatment; they remain editorially powerful both for the La La’s and for setting benchmarks at every price tier.

Editorial notes
The three La La’s have different stylistic positions — La Mouline (most aromatic, Viognier-co-fermented), La Landonne (most structured, pure Syrah), La Turque (middle ground). All three age 25+ years from strong vintages and require significant cellaring before opening.
